We have to find the largest no. and smallest no. which can be rounded off to nearest thousand as given no.

We a no is rounded off to nearest thousand then it depends on the digit at hundreds place.

If Digit at hundred place is from 0 to 4 then it is rounded off to smallest thousands

If Digit at hundred place is from 5 to 9 then it is rounded off to next / larger thousand

Here after round off thousand we get is 9000.

which means smallest no should have in 8 thousand with 5 at hundreds place and largest no should have 9 in thousands place with 4 at hundreds place.

Therefore, Smallest No is 8500 and largest No is 9499.
