perimeter =

2 (l+ b ) = 64 -------- eq.2

from eq.1

x- y = 8

x = 8+ y

put this x = 8+y in eq.2

2 ( 8+ y + y ) = 64

8+ 2y = 64 ÷ 2

8+ 2y = 32

2y = 32 - 8

2y = 24

y = 12

now we have y = 8

put this y = 8 in eq .1

x- y = 8

x -12=8

x = 8+12

x = 20

so, length is 20m and width is 12m
