Step-by-step explanation:

The difference between the length and breadth of a rectangle is 23

let l be length and b be breadth

l - b = 23--------(1)

If the perimeter is 206m

p = 2 ×(l+b) = 206

l + b = 103-----------(2)

from (1) and (2)

2l = 126 ==> l= 63

we get b = 40

the length and breadth are 63 and 40

  • As per the data given in the question, we have to determine the length and breadth of a triangle.

        Given data:- Perimeter of triangle=206m.

        To find:- Lenth(l)=? and Breadth(b)=?

        Let the length and breadth of triangles are x and y respectively.

        According to the given condition, The difference between length and

        the breadth of the triangle is 23.

        We will write as,

        \Rightarrow l-b=23. equation(1)

        And the perimeter of triangle=206.

        We will write as,

         \Rightarrow 2(l+b)=206.\\\Rightarrow 2l+2b=206\\\Rightarrow l+b=103. Equation(2)

        Solving equation(1) and (2)

        \Rightarrow -2b=23-103\\\Rightarrow -2b=-80.\\\Rightarrow -b=\frac{-80}{2} \\\Rightarrow -b=-40\\\Rightarrow b=40.\\

        So, the value of b=31. putting in equation(1). We get,

        \Rightarrow l-b=23\\\Rightarrow l-40=23\\\Rightarrow l=23+40=63m.

       Hence, the length and breadth are 63 and 40 respectively.
