• Let the natural number be M.

» The difference between the square of natural number and the number itself is 110.

A.T.Q.

→ M² - M = 110

→ M² - M - 110 = 0

→ M² - 11M + 10M - 110 = 0

→ M(M - 11) +10(M - 11) = 0

→ (M + 10) (M - 11) = 0

› M + 10 = 0

→ M = - 10 (neglected)

› M - 11 = 0

→ M = 11

✡ VERIFICATION :

M² - M = 110

From above calculations we have M = 11

Put value of M in above equation.

=) (11)² - 11 = 110

=) 121 - 11 = 110

=) 110 = 110
