let the angles be a and b .
given : a-b =20
since the angles are complementary , a+b=90
solve a-b =20 and a+b=90
a-b=20
a+b=90 (+)
2a=110
a =55
then b=90-55 =35
on solving , b will get cancelled . then you will get a=55 and b=35
you can verify these values as follows:
a-b = 55-35 = 20
a+b = 55+35= 90
therefore the angles are 55 and 35.
