• Let the smaller number be 'y'

Two angles are complementary

➪︎ x + y = 90° ...........(1)

The difference between them is 22°..

➪︎ x - y = 22° .............(2)

Add (1) and (2) , we get

➪︎ x + y = 90°

➪︎ x - y = 22°

2x = 112°

$x = \frac{112}{2} = 56$

Substitute x = 56° in eq (1)

➪︎ 56° + y = 90°

➪︎ y = 90° - 56°

➪︎ y = 34°

x = 56° ; y = 34°
