Answer:

Yes it is right here I send you how I should it

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

The difference between the two numbers is 26.

One number is 3 times the other

To Find :-

The Numbers.

Solution :-

Let the larger number be x and the smaller number be y.

According to the Question

1st Equation

x –y = 26 ………….(i)

2nd Equation

x = 3y …………(ii)

Putting x value in Eq (i)

⇒ x –y = 26

⇒ 3y –y = 26

⇒ 2y = 26

⇒ y = 26/2

⇒ y = 13

Putting y value in Eq (i)

⇒ x –y = 26

⇒ x – 13 = 26

⇒ x = 26 + 13

⇒ x = 39

Hence, the required numbers are 39 and 13.

you are wrong.the correct answer is

y=13 and x=39.

Step-by-step explanation:

in question they said one number is three times the other.

that means,

x=3y.so, x is the greatest no.so x-y=26.

it means the answers will be in positive.

39-13=26. 39=3X13

x=39 and y=26

if it is in negative,(-39)-(-13)=-26 will come.

hope it helps you.
