let the numbers as "x"

so other number be "x+30" or "y"

so $<b>According to the question</b>$

y - x = 30

y = 30 + x 【¡】

this show that "y" is the greater number

but according to the other equation

$\frac{y}{x} = 3$

on putting the value of y in equation.

$\frac{30 + x}{x} = 3$

$30 + x = 3x$

$30 = 2x$

$\frac{30}{2} = x$

so x = 15

through equation 【¡】

y = 30 + 15 = 45

so,
