Step-by-step explanation:

x-y=7. x=7+y

6y+x=77

so 6y+7+y=77

7y=70

y=10

and x=7+y

x=17

Answer:

answer

Follow this process to find the two no.:-

  • Let the smallest no. be (x) and larger no. be (y)

➡️ ACCORDING TO QUESTION,

Y- X = 7

[ Let this considered be 1 equation]

6X+Y= 77

[ Let this considered as 2 equation]

➡️ Now , Multiplying equation 1 with 6 and condition 2 by 1 and add them..

We Get,

6y - 6x + 6x + y = 77 + 7

=> 7y = 84

=> y = 12

Now substituting the value of y in condition 1 , we get -

Now substituting the value of y in condition 1 , we get -12 - x = 7

Now substituting the value of y in condition 1 , we get -12 - x = 7=> x = 12 - 7

Now substituting the value of y in condition 1 , we get -12 - x = 7=> x = 12 - 7=> x = 5

Now substituting the value of y in condition 1 , we get -12 - x = 7=> x = 12 - 7=> x = 5So, the greater number (y) is 12 and the smaller number (x) is 5
