Answer:

(I) x+15

(ii) 43

Step-by-step explanation:

Smaller No. = x

Difference in numbers = 15

therefore, Larger no. = x+15

(ii) A.T.Q,

x+x+15 = 71

2x +15 = 71

2x= 71-15

2x= 56

x = 56/2

x = 28

Now , Larger No. = x+15

= 28+15

= 43

Answer:

(i) Let the larger number be y

   Then, y=x+15-->(1)

(ii) Given, y+x=71

    i.e. x+15+x = 71    (using equation 1)

          2x+15 =71

                 2x=71-15

                    2x= 56

                      x=56/2=28

     The larger number is y which equals x+15

        i.e. y= 28+15 = 43.
