now, the equation is
= 5x - 2x = 18
= 3x = 18
= X = 18 / 3
X = 6
so, the numbers are :
5x = 5 × 6 = 30
2x = 2 × 6 = 12

a/b=5/2
a-b=18
a=18+b
18+b/b=5/2
2(18+b)=5b
36+2b=5b
36=5b-2b
b=36/3
b=12
a=18+b
a=18+12
a=30
therefore , a and b is 30 and 12
