x-y = 26
x =3y
3y-y = 26
y = 13
x = 13 *3
x = 39
x =3y

Let's assume the two numbers be x and y.
Now consider the two given conditions.
1. x-y = 26 ( assuming x >y)
2. x = 3y ( as we have assumed x>y)
Now substituting equation 2 in 1 we get
3y-y = 26
that means y = 13
so x = 3y = 3x13= 39
hence the two numbers are 13 & 39.
