Now, difference of numbers = 26

↦-y = 26 ......(1)

Again, one number

↦ = 3 (the other number)

↦ x = 3y

↦ x - 3y = 0

↦ x = 3y .....(2)

Now, substituting x = 3y in equation (1)

↦ 3y - y = 26

↦ 2y = 26

↦ y = 13

Again, from (2),

↦ x = 3 x 13

↦ x = 39

↦ Hence, the two numbers x and y are 39and 13.
