To Find :-

The Numbers.

Solution :-

Let the larger number be x and the smaller number be y.

According to the Question

1st Equation

x –y = 26 ………….(i)

2nd Equation

x = 3y …………(ii)

Putting x value in Eq (i)

⇒ x –y = 26

⇒ 3y –y = 26

⇒ 2y = 26

⇒ y = 26/2

⇒ y = 13

Putting y value in Eq (i)

⇒ x –y = 26

⇒ x – 13 = 26

⇒ x = 26 + 13

⇒ x = 39

Hence, the required numbers are 39 and 13.
