Let the two numbers be x & y
A/q
x = 3y ......(i)
x-y = 26 ......(ii)

From (i) , we get
x = 3y
&
From (ii) , we get
x-y = 26
y = x-26
So by substituting the value of x in (ii), we get
y = 3y-26
3y -y = 26
2y = 26
y = 26/2 = 13
So, y = 13
& x = 3y = 3 * 13 = 39

So, x = 39
& y = 13

Ok!

\bf\huge Let \:the\:number\:be\:p\:and\:y

\bf\huge => p - y = 26 (Eqn 1)

\bf\huge => p = 3y (Eqn 2)

\bf\huge From\:Eqn(2) => y = \frac{p}{3}

\bf\huge Put\:the\:value\:in\:Eqn(1)

\bf\huge => p - \frac{p}{3} = 26

\bf\huge => 3p - p = 78

\bf\huge => 2p = 78

\bf\huge => p = 39

\bf\huge Substitute\:p = 39 \:in\:Eqn(2)

\bf\huge => 39 = 3y

\bf\huge => y = \frac{39}{3} = 13

\bf\huge Required\:Number\:=\:39\:and\:13
