The difference between two numbers is 3 and the difference of their squares is 63. Find the greater number. (a) 12 (b) 9 (c) 15

Let, the smaller number be x.
then, another number will be 3+x.

Now,

(x+3)² - x² = 63
x²+6x+9-x² = 63
6x = 54
x = 9

Greater number = x+3 = 12.
