the difference between two numbers is 8 if 2 is added to the bigger numberthe result will be three times the smaller number find the number

let the two numbers be x and 8-x respectively.
where 8-x is greater of two.
now according to question:
10-x=3x
10=4x
x= 10÷4
x=5/2

Let the numbers be x(bigger number) and y 

ATQ,

x-y = 2         ---------1equation

If 2 is added to x 

x+2 = 3y

x = 3y - 2
________________

putting the value of x in 1equation  


x - y = 2

3y -2 - y = 2

3y -y = 2+2

2y = 4

y = 4/2

y = 2
______________

Putting the value of y in 1equation

x- y = 2

x -2 = 2

x= 2+2

x =4

Now,

Numbers are :-

y = 2
And x = 4 


number are :-

 2 and 4
