Let x and y be the two numbers. And, x > y.
Then,
x - y = 7
Also,
6y + x = 77
Solving the two equations,
6y + 7 + y = 77
7y = 70
Therefore, y = 10 and x = 17.
Hope this helps you.

cia1: Thank you sooo much
Ammchu: welcome
cia1: but I have a doubt
Ammchu: yeah?
cia1: where did the x go
cia1: ??
Ammchu: I made a substitution in eq 2 from eq 1
cia1: now i understood
cia1: once again thank you
Ammchu: anytime

Let the greater no. Be x
and smaller no. Be y

According to question
X-y = 7..........(i)
x = 7+y
6(y) +x = 77.......(ii)

Put the value of x on equation (ii)
6y + 7+y = 77
7y +7 = 77
7y = 77-7
7y = 70
y = 70/7
Y = 10

Putting this value on equation (i)
X = 7+y
X = 7+10
X = 17

Hope it helps :)
