Answer:

let one integer be x and other be x+30

Step-by-step explanation:

let one integer be x and other be x+30

x/x+30=2/5

5x=2x+60

5x-2x=60

3x=60

x=60/3

x=20

other number =x+30

20+30

=50

therefore two integers are 20 and 50

\sf\huge\underline{Explanation :-}

Given :

  • Ratio of two positive integers = 2 : 5
  • Difference between the two positive integers = 30

To find :

  • The value of integers.

Solution :

Ratio of the two integers & the difference between the integers are given and from that we'll find the two integers.

Let the first integer be '2x'

and the second integer be '5x'

According to question,

\sf\longrightarrow 5x - 2x = 30

\sf\longrightarrow 3x = 30

\sf\longrightarrow x = \dfrac{30}{3}

\sf\therefore x = 10

Hence, the value of x is 10.

Now,

The first integer => 2 × 10 = 20

The second integer => 5 × 10 = 50

Hence, the two integers are 20 and 50 respectively.

\bf\huge\underline{Verification :-}

  • The equation : 5x - 2x = 30

Putting the value of x, we get -

\sf\longrightarrow 5 \times 10 - 2 \times 10 = 30

\sf\longrightarrow 50 - 20 = 30

\sf\longrightarrow 30 = 30

\sf\therefore L.H.S = R.H.S

Hence, Proved.
