The difference between two positive integers is 36. The quotient when one integer is divided by other is 4. Find the integers.

x-y=36. (1)
x÷y=4
-->x=4y
substituting in (1) 4y-y=36 =3y=36
means,y=12
so, x-12=36
which means x=48

x/y=4
x=4y
now put the value of x in equation one
4y-y=36
3y=36
y=36/3=12
y=12
now to find out the value of x put value of y in equation one
x-12=36
x=36+12=48
x=48
