hey mate,

here is the solution,

let the numbers be X and Y(X>Y)

thus,

X-Y=36

and

X/Y=4

=>X=4Y

thus,

4Y-Y=36

=>3Y=36

=>Y=12

and hence X=4*12=48

thus, numbers are 48 and 12.

x-y=36,......equation (1)

x/y=4 x=4y

4y-y=36

3y=36

y=12.

from equation 1

x-12=36, x=48
