From the Equation (1)

X – Y = 4

X = 4 + Y ------→ (3)

Combining the equation (2) and (3) we get.

Y = 12/4

Y = 3

Substituting the Y in equation (1) we get

X = 4+3

X = 7

Hence the two unknown number are 7 and 3.
