Answer:

The CP of the article is 200 rupees and the following selling prices are 225 and 228 rupees at profit of 12.5% and 14% respectively .

Step-by-step explanation:

Let CP of the article be a rupees

price at a profit of 12.5% is a + 12.5a/100 rupees

price at a profit of 14% is a + 14a/100 rupees

according to question , (a + 14a/100)-(a + 12.5a/100) = 3

⇒ 14a - 12.5 = 300

⇒ 1.5 a = 300 ⇒ a = 200 rupees

selling price at 12.5% is 200+12.5×200/100 = 225 rupees

selling price at 14% is 200+14×200/100 = 228 rupees
