Step-by-step explanation:

let /_a = x °

so according to question /_b = (x+20)°

now , we know that , sum of two supplementary angles =180°

====> /_ a + /_b = 180°

=> x + (x+20) =180

=> 2x +20 = 180

=> 2x = 160

=> x = 80°

therefore, measure of each acute is :

===> /_a = x = 80°

♦ Acute angle is greater than 0 but less than 90... so we get only one..

another angje /_b = x+20 = 100°

♦ which is not acute ..it is obtuse

Answer:

If the measures are x and y degrees, and they are supplementary, then their sum is 180 degrees. So you can write and solve a system of equations.

x + y = 180

x - y = 20

Now you can use any method to solve. Let's use the elimination method by adding the equations together.

x + x + y - y = 180 + 202x = 200

x = 100

Now solve for y.

100 + y = 180

y = 80

So the angles measure 100 and 80 degrees.
