By looking at the ratio we can say 2x = 5y...............(i)

By looking at the difference we can say x - y = 55 ....................(ii)

Or, x = 55 + y.......(iii)

Putting this value of x in eq.(i) we get :

2(55 + y) = 5y

110 + 2y = 5y

3y = 110

y = 110/3

Putting this value of y in eq.(iii) we get :

x = 55 + 110/3

x = 165 + 110/3

x = 275/3
