Solution :

Let the two whole numbers be 5x and 3x.

• First whole number = 5x
• Second whole number = 3x

According to the question,

⇒ First whole number - Second whole number = 6

⇒ 5x - 3x = 6

⇒ 2x = 6

⇒ x = 6/2

⇒ x = 3

⇒ The value of x = 3

Substituting the value of x in the two whole numbers :

⇒ First whole number = 5x

⇒ First whole number = 5(3)

⇒ First whole number = 15

⇒ Second whole number = 3x

⇒ Second whole number = 3(3)

⇒ Second whole number = 9
