Given,

difference between 2 numbers = 84

ratio of 2 numbers = 12 : 5

Let the numbers be 12x and 5x.

12x - 5x = 84

7x = 84

x = 12

Therefore, the numbers are,

12x = 12(12) = 144

5x = 5(12) = 60
