Then longer side = x + 5

perimeter = 2 × ( sum of adjacent sides)

=> 58 = 2 × (x + x+5)

=> 58/2 = 2x + 5

=> 2x + 5 = 58/2

=> 2x = 29 - 5

=> 2x =24

=> x = 12

so, smaller side = 12

and longer side = 12 + 5 = 17
