Complementary angles are the angles that add upto 90°. The angles need not to be adjacent, just their measures should have a sum of 90°

GiveN:

  • Difference between the complementary angles is 24°.

Let the angles be x and x + 24°. Then their sum would add upto 90°

⇛ x + x + 24° = 90°

⇛ 2x + 24° = 90°

⇛ 2x = 66°

⇛ x = 33°

Then the angles are:

  • x = 33°
  • x + 24° = 57°

  • Supplementary angles add upto 180°. They if placed adjacent to each other, they form a straight line.

Answer :-

  • Measure of each angle are 33° and 57° respectively.

Given :-

  • The difference in measures of two complementry angle is 24 degree

To Find :-

  • Measure of the angle.

Solution :-

Let those angles be

  • x
  • x + 24°

Sum of these angles will be 90° as they're complementary.

According to question :-

x + x + 24° = 90°

⇒ 2x + 24° = 90°

⇒ 2x = 90° - 24°

⇒ 2x = 66°

⇒ x = 66/2

⇒ x = 33

Hence, the angles are

  • x = 33°
  • x + 24 = 33 + 24 = 57°
