When you sell the bag at 10% profit,
SP = CP×(100+profit)/100 =CP×(100+10)/100 =CP×110/100 = 1.10CP
When you sell the bag at 14% profit,
SP = CP×(100+profit)/100 =CP×(100+14)/100 =CP×114/100 = 1.14 CP
difference = 16
⇒ 1.14CP - 1.10CP = 16
⇒ 0.04 CP = 16
⇒ CP = 16 / 0.04
⇒ CP = Rs. 400
At 14% profit,
SP = 1.14 CP = 1.14×400 = Rs. 456
SP = CP×(100+profit)/100 =CP×(100+10)/100 =CP×110/100 = 1.10CP
When you sell the bag at 14% profit,
SP = CP×(100+profit)/100 =CP×(100+14)/100 =CP×114/100 = 1.14 CP
difference = 16
⇒ 1.14CP - 1.10CP = 16
⇒ 0.04 CP = 16
⇒ CP = 16 / 0.04
⇒ CP = Rs. 400
At 14% profit,
SP = 1.14 CP = 1.14×400 = Rs. 456
