let the Principal be x.Simple Interest earned in 2 years at 6%p.a rate =x*6*2/100= 0.12x.Simple interest earned in 4 years at 6%p.a. rate=6*4*x/100=0.24x. 0.24x-0.12x=₹600=> 0.12x=₹600=> x=₹(600×100)/12 =₹5000. 5000 is the sum invested .
