Explanation:

It is just simple to calculate the no. Of sigma and pi bonds

Just look at the double bonds in benzene.

There are 3 (if i am not wrong) this implies that there are 3 pi bonds.

Next come to sigma it is very very very simple just enlarge whole molecule of benzene with all C and H atoms….

A note: count one of the double bond as sigma other one is pi (3 double bonds ==== 3 pi and 3 sigma in that particular case.)

In total after all counting u will get sigma ==12.
