Answer:

please mark as brainliest

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x & y be the no.s Given

x^2 - y^2 = 180

y^2 = 8x

x^2 - 8x =180

x^2-8x-180 =0

(x -18)(x+10) = 0

So x =18

y^2= 8×18=144

y = 12

The no.s. are 18 & 12

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the two numbers are x and y.suppose y is the smallest number and x is the largest number.

A/Q to question

x^2-y^2=180(i)

& y^2= 8x(ii)

Now putting the value of y^2 in eq.n (i) we get

x^2-8x=180

=>x^2-8x-180=0

=>x^2-18x+10x-180=0

=>x(x-18)+10(x-18)=0

=>(x-18) (x+10) =0

x= 18 & -10

In eq.n (ii)

y^2=8x

y^2=8×18

y^2=144

y = 12

So,the req.d numbers are 18 & 12
