Step-by-step explanation:

let the sq of the larger no. be x sq

therefore the squad of the smaller no. = 4x

according to question

x^2 - 4x = 45

x^2 - 4x - 45= 0

x^2 - 9x + 5x - 45 = 0

x(x - 9) + 5(x - 9)= 0

(x + 5)(x - 9) = 0

if x + 5 = 0 ¦ if x - 9 = 0

x= -5. ¦ x= 9

not possible

answer- x = 9
