The difference of sum of two numbers is 170 and their difference is 26.What are the two numbers?

Answer:

We have,

x + y = 170

x - y = 26

Adding both equations

x + y + x - y = 196

2x = 196

x = 98

Substituting x = 98 in first equation

98 + y = 170

y = 170 - 98

y = 72
