the difference of the digits of a two digit number is 4 . when the digits are interchange the new number is smaller than the original number by 36. find the two digits number. (I can't get the full answer so please try to give me the detail answer)

Solution:
Let x and y be the two-digit number.
x-y=4 , then we interchange itxy-yx=36
If x=8 and y = 4, then we obtain,8-4=4 and if we interchange it, we get the value of 36,
84-48=36.
Therefore, the two-digit number are 4 and 8.
