QUESTION:

The difference of two integers is -10. If one of them is 16, find the other integer.

ANSWER :

Differnce of two integers = -10

let the other integer be x.

case 1 :

x - 16 = - 10 \\ x = - 10 + 16 \\ x = 6

Case 2.

16 - x = - 10 \\ - x = - 10 - 16 \\ - x = - 26 \\ x = 26

the other integer can be 6 or 26.
