Let the numbers by x and y.

According to the question,,

( x - y) = 3. (I)
(x2 - y2) = 69 (ii)

From (I) and (ii).

x-y=3
X= 3+y

(3+y)2 - y2 =69
9+y2+6y =69
6y = 60
Y = 10.

Putting value of y in (I)

x - y = 3
X - 10 = 3
X = 13.

Therefore,

X = 13
Y = 10.
