SOLUTION:
Let the two numbers be x and y. (x>y)

A.T.Q.
x - y = 66…………….(1)
x = 4y…………..(2)

On substituting  the value of x from equation 2  in eq. 1.

x -y = 66
4y - y = 66
3y = 66
y = 66/3
y = 22

On Substituting y =  22 in equation 2.
x = 4y
x = 4 × 22
x = 88

Hence, the two numbers are 88 and 22.

Let one number be x.

Then the other number will be 4 times the other = 4x.

Given that difference of two numbers is 66.

4x - x = 66

3x = 66

x = 22.

Then the other number = 4(22)

                                        = 88.

Therefore the numbers are 22 and 88.

Verification:

4x - x = 66

3x = 66

3(22) = 66

66 = 66.

Hope this helps!
