Given :

  • The difference of two bers = 4
  • Product of these two numbers = 60

To Find :

  • These two numbers.

Now,

Let the two numbers be x and y

According to the question :

→x - y = 4----------(1)

→xx y = 60.---------(2)

From eq (1)

→x = y + 4

Putting this value of x in eq (2)

→xxy = 60

→ (y + 4) x y = 60

→y² + 4y = 60

→y² + 4y - 60 = 0

By splitting the middle term

→y² + (10 - 6)y - 60 = 0

→ y² + 10y - 6y - 60 = 0

→y(y + 10) - 6(y + 10) = 0

→(y + 10)(y - 6) = 0

→y + 10 = 0

→ y = -10

→y - 6 = o

→y=6

Putting (y = 6) in eq (1)

x - y = 4

➡X-6= = 4

➡x=4+6

➡x = 10

Putting (y = - 10) in eq (1)

x - y = 4

→x - (-10) = 4

→x + 10 = 4

⇒x=4-10

→× = -6

So, the two numbers will be ( 6 and 10 ) or (-6 and -10 ) l
