let the two no.s be x,y
x-y=3 --------------eq 1
x²-y²=69
(x+y)(x-y)=69
x+y=69/3
x+y=23--------------eq 2
x-y=3
__________
2x=26
x=13
in eq 1
x-y=3
13-y=3
y=10

profswh: did your steps end up at the correct answer
rayner: yes they did
profswh: y=16 is right
rayner: 13sq.-10sq=69
rayner: 13-10=4
rayner: who is 16sq-13sq=69 it is wrong
rayner: 256-169!=69
profswh: 256-169=87
rayner: then look what has the question given dont simply argue
profswh: so what do you wanna say

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the Two Numbers be A and B

Given : The Difference of Two Numbers is 3

⇒ A - B = 3

⇒ A = B + 3

Given : The Difference of their Squares is 69

⇒ A² - B² = 69

Substituting A = (B + 3) in the Above Equation, We get :

⇒ (B + 3)² - B² = 69

⇒ B² + 9 + 6B - B² = 69

⇒ 6B = 69 - 9

⇒ 6B = 60

⇒ B = 10

Substituting B = 10 in A = (B + 3), We get :

⇒ A = (10 + 3) = 13

So, The Two Numbers are 10 and 13
