(x + y + 2z) {}^{2} - (x + y) {}^{2} \\ = ((x + y) + 2z){}^{2} - (x + y) {}^{2} \\ = ((x + y) {}^{2} + 4 {z}^{2} + 4(x + y)z) - (x + y) {}^{2} \\ = 4 {z}^{2} + 4z(x + y) \\ = 4z(z + x + y)
