= -1 ( which is not a whole number but an integer)

Depends of the word usage. If you mean general integers than yes the difference between two integers is an integer, if you mean natrual numbers (none-negative integers) or positiv integers than no b−a is not positiv if a≥b and not none-negative (double negation so simply negativ) if a>b .
