In prokaryotes , there is only one type of DNA-dependent RNA polymerase required for transcription:
- Transcription is a process where RNA polymerase uses one of the DNA strands as template strand and produces single stranded RNA.
- In prokaryotes , only one RNA polymerase is available for transcription.
- After transcription , there is no such post-transcriptional modifications as the translation process starts before transcription completely ends.
- However, in eukaryotes, there are 3 types of RNA polymerases responsible for production of various kinds of RNA with various functions.
Hope It Helps.
