the digit at ten's place of a two digit number is four times that in the unit 's place .if the digits are reversed ,the new number will be 54 less than the original number find the original number . check your solution.

let tens place digit be y
Two digit number is 10y+x

y=4x
4x-y=0 eq.(1)

10x+y=10y+x-54
9x-9y=-54
x-y=-6
By eliminating,
we get x=2 & y=8
Original number is 10*8+2=82

Cross check : y=4x
8=4*2
8=8
: x-y=-6
2-8=-6
-6=-6
