EXPLANATION.

Let the digit at tens place be = x

Let the digit at unit place be = y

original number = 10x + y

reversing number = 10y + x

according to the question,

Let the digit at one place = x

Let the digit at tens place = 4x

original number = 10 X ( 4x ) + x = 41x

reversing number = 10 X ( x) + 4x = 14x

if the sum of this number and the number

formed by reversing = 55

=> 41x + 14x = 55

=> 55x = 55

=> x = 1

Therefore,

original number = 41x = 41 X 1 = 41
