the digit in tens place of a two digit number is 4 times the digit in one's place. If you interchange the digits of this two digit number and add the resulting number to the original number, you get 55. What is the original number?

Let the one's place be x

Hence, ten's place= 4x

Number formed= 4x × 10 + x

40x+x= 41x

Reverse

One's place = 4x

Ten's place = x

Number formed=x × 10 + 4x

=10x+4x= 14x

Number1 +Number2=55

41x + 14x = 55

55x = 55

x=1

Original number=

41x

=41×1

=41
