Answer:

500 boxes can be made in all.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : The dimension of a rectangular sheet of metal are 6.5 m ×3 m out of this sheet close boxes of dimensions 15 cm × 6 cm × 5 cm are made.

To find : How many such boxes can be made in all?

Solution :

Length of rectangular sheet = 6.5 m

Breadth of sheet = 3 m

Area of sheet is

A=6.5\times 3 = 19.5 m^2

1m =100 cm

19.5 sq. m=19.5*10000=195000 sq. cm

Area of sheet = 195000 sq.m

Length of one box = 15 cm

Breadth of box = 6 cm

Height of box = 5 cm

Total surface area of box is

TSA= 2(lb + bh + hl)

TSA= 2(15\times 6 +6\times 5 + 15\times 5)

TSA= 2(90 +30+ 75)

TSA= 2(195)

TSA= 390 cm^2

Number of boxes made,

n=\frac{\text{Area of sheet}}{\text{Area of box}}

n=\frac{195000}{390}

n=500

Therefore, 500 boxes can be made in all.
