It is said that there is a boundary around the screen which is of width 4cm
So the area of the boundary =area of the tv with the boundary -area of the screen

Area of the screen with the boundary is (90+4)*(60+4)
=94*64
=6016 cm^2

Area of the screen is
90*60
=5400 cm^2

Therefore the area of The boundary is =
6016-5400 cm^2
=616 cm^2

Therefore the are of the boundary is 616cm^2

Given : dimension of the screen of a flat tv are 90cm*60cm the screen has 4-cm broad boundary all around

To Find : the area of the boundary.

Solution:

Screen Size = 90cm*60cm

Screen Size area = 90 x 60 = 5400 cm²

4-cm broad boundary all around

Height including boundary = 60 + 4 + 4 = 68 cm

Width   including boundary = 90 + 4 + 4 = 98 cm

Area including Boundary = 98 * 68  = 6,664 cm²

area of the boundary.  = 6,664  -  5,400

= 1,264 cm²
