Explanation:

There's no difference in their dimensional formula (LT^-1), measured in m/s. But they are different physical quatities. Speed is a scalar whereas velocity is a vector i.e no direction is mentioned while specifying speed but when we talk about velocity we need to mention it's direction along with its scalar quantity.
